Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lb. tart apples, peeled and sliced (8 c.)
- 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 stick butter or margarine, melted
- 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
- 1 c. apple juice
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

2Add apples, mix well. Line a 10 or 12-inch baking dish with pastry, add apple mixture. Pour apple juice around edge (not on apples).

3Cover with top pastry, sealing edges.

4Cut slits in top.

5Brush with margarine, sprinkle with white sugar.

6Bake at 425° for 40 minutes or until juice bubbles through slits.

7This is a deep-dish pie.

8Pan must be at least two inches deep.
