- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 4 Tbsp. cold water
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 6 or 7 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Dissolve cornstarch in cold water in small pan, adding boiling water.

2Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until clear; set aside to cool.

3Beat egg whites until frothy, add salt.

4On high speed gradually add sugar until peaks form.

5Add vanilla. Gradually add cooled cornstarch mixture, beating as you add it. Beat until peaks form.

6Pile on pie.

7Bake at 300` until lightly brown.
