Directions

   Boil sugar, corn syrup and water together until it forms a hard ball when dropped in water.

   Beat egg whites and salt for 3 minutes in large bowl.

   Pour syrup slowly into beaten egg whites while beating.

   Continue beating until mixture passes the glossy stage.

   Add nuts (or fruit) and vanilla, continue beating until mixture forms a peak when beater is raised.

   Pour onto buttered platter or drop on waxed paper.
