- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/3 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/3 Tbsp. Crisco or lard
- 2/3 c. cream
- 6 c. flour
Directions

1Mix sugar and cream. Scald and cool.

2Blend all ingredients. Add sufficient flour to knead until quite firm.

3Let rise until double in bulk and knead again.

4Let rise again.

5On a board, flatten to 1/2 inch thick.

6Cut 1/2-inch strips 6 inches long. Roll dough between hands to rope shape and form a figure 8.

7Dip one side in melted butter and then in sugar and put on a lightly greased cookie sheet with sugar side up.

8Bake 15 minutes at 375°.
