  • 1 c. sugar (scant)
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together; add the sugar, then the egg, well beaten.

    Then add the milk and lastly, the nuts, rolled in flour.

    Give it 20 minutes to rise, then bake in a moderate oven, 350°, until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
