Ingredients
- 1 c. quick oats
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. boiling water
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast or 1 Tbsp. bulk yeast
- 5 c. white flour
Directions

1Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.

2When this mixture is lukewarm, add warm water and yeast.

3Stir in white flour.

4When dough is stiff enough to handle, turn onto floured board and knead 5 to 10 minutes.

5Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled.

6Punch down and let rise again.

7Shape into 2 loaves and place in greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pans.

8Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.

9Cool on rack, brushing loaves with margarine for a soft crust.
