- 2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. oats
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 6 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. honey or molasses
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
Directions

1Combine boiling water and oats.

2Let stand 30 minutes.

3Mix yeast and warm water and let stand 5 minutes.

4Mix oats, yeast, salt, honey, butter and about 4 cups of the flour in a very large bowl.

5Knead in remaining 2 cups flour.

6(It will be hard work.) Let rise until doubled, 2 to 3 hours.

7Punch down dough.

8Divide in half and stretch each portion to cover bottoms of 2 greased loaf pans.

9Let double again, 1 to 2 hours.

10Bake at 325° for about 50 minutes.

11(Is faster to use RapidRise yeast.)
