Ingredients
- 1/2 c. oil
- 2 c. water, lukewarm
- 1 c. milk or water, lukewarm
- 1/3 c. dark Karo syrup
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 c. oatmeal
- 6 to 8 c. bread flour
- 2 Tbsp. dry yeast
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in the cup of milk or water.

2Put into large mixing bowl the 2 cups lukewarm water.

3Add shortening, syrup and molasses and then add yeast.

4Add oatmeal.

5Add salt to a cup of bread flour and add with more flour to make dough.

6Mix well.

7Add more flour as needed to make a stiff dough.

8Knead for about 10 minutes.

9Let rise until double.

10Makes 2 loaves.

11Form into loaves and let raise again until double.

12Bake at 400° for 30 to 35 minutes.
