Oatmeal Chocolate Chippers

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 16 oz. chocolate chips

Directions

    Thoroughly cream together the shortening, sugar and brown sugar.

    Add eggs and beat well. Sift together the flour, soda and salt. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture and mix well.

    Stir in oats, nuts and chocolate.

    If desired, chill dough for easy handling. Shape dough into balls.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten balls with bottom of a sugar coated glass. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375°.
