  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. preserves (apricot, pineapple or strawberry)
  • 1 c. ice cream (vanilla or strawberry)
  • 2 c. walnuts, chopped

    Mix first 3 ingredients and chill 4 hours or overnight. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to 14 x 7-inches. Spread 1/2 cup preserves over each roll topped with 1/2 cup walnuts. Roll up dough as if for jellyroll. Place on cookie sheet. Brush top with beaten egg and score diagonally on top with knife. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
