- 20 small fresh okra pods
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- corn oil
Directions

1Wash okra, trim and drain.

2Place in shallow dish.

3Pour buttermilk over okra, set aside.

4Combine next 5 ingredients, mixing well.

5Remove okra from buttermilk and carefully roll in cornmeal mixture.

6Drop into hot oil (375°).

7Fry 3 to 5 minutes, turning and browning on all sides.

8Drain on paper towels.
