- 7 lb. cucumbers
- 1 c. Mrs. Wage pickling lime
- 2 gal. water
- 8 c. distilled white vinegar (5% acidity)
- 1 Tbsp. salt (optional)
- 2 tsp. mixed pickling spices
- 8 c. sugar
Directions

1Soak sliced cucumbers in water and lime mixture for 12 hours or overnight (do not use aluminum ware).

2Remove cucumbers from mixture and rinse 3 times in fresh cold water.

3Soak 3 hours in ice water.

4Combine vinegar, sugar, salt and mixed pickling spices in large pot.

5Bring to a low boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.

6Remove syrup from heat and add cucumbers and soak for 5 to 6 hours.

7Boil slices in syrup 35 minutes.
