Onion Cheese Pie

  • 2 c. Ritz cheese crackers, crushed fine
  • 1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 3 large onions, sliced thin
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • pinch of pepper
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and parsley

Directions

    Mix crushed crackers with melted butter or margarine.

    Press into Pyrex pie plate, reserving 1/2 cup.

    Saute onions in vegetable oil until tender and golden; spread on crust.

    Heat milk, eggs, salt, cheese and seasonings, stirring constantly, until cheese melts.

    Pour mixture over onions and bake until center sets, about 30 minutes at 350°.

    Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.
