  • 3 large Bermuda onions
  • vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Peel onions and cut into 1/4-inch slices.

    Separate into rings.

    Heat 1 inch of oil in a 3-quart saucepan to 375°.

    Beat remaining ingredients until smooth.

    Dip each ring into batter, letting excess drip into bowl.

    Fry a few at a time in hot oil, turning once until golden brown, about 2 minutes.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Keep warm in 300° oven until ready to serve.
