- 2 large Bermuda or Vidalia onions, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. Swiss cheese, grated
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 loaf French bread
- butter
Directions

1Saute onions in 2 tablespoons butter until wilted and transparent.

2Remove from heat.

3Add cheese, soup, milk, soy sauce and pepper.

4Spread mixture in 9 x 12-inch baking dish.

5Slice French bread in 1-inch slices.

6Butter top of each slice and place on onion mixture.

7Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and bread is browned.
