  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 1/8 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. orange peel, grated
  • 1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped

    Beat butter and sugars.

    Add egg and beat.

    Add juice and vanilla.

    Add flour, salt and soda; then peel and pecans.

    Shape into two 1 1/4 rolls.

    Wrap in waxed paper. Chill until firm. Slice 3/16-inch thick.

    Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375° for 8 or 9 minutes.
