- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sour milk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 large or 2 small oranges
- 1 c. raisins
- confectioners sugar
Directions

1Cream the sugar and shortening well.

2Stir in beaten egg.

3Add alternately the flour and the sour milk into which soda has been mixed, with the flour.

4Grind oranges, rind and all, with raisins. Set aside 3 tablespoons and add the remaining to cake batter.

5Bake in a 10 x 10 x 2-inch square pan for 35 to 40 minutes in moderate oven at 350°.

6Add confectioners sugar to the 3 tablespoons orange and raisin mixture.

7Mix and pour over cake while it is still very hot.

8It makes a delicious frosting.

9The mixture may be added to 7-Minute Frosting if the cake is baked in layers.
