- 5 c. hominy (half yellow, half white)
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. leaf oregano
- 3 red chile pods or 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 1/2 to 2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
Directions

1Place pork and water in a saucepan and cook, covered, until meat is tender (1 hour).

2Drain hominy.

3Add remaining ingredients, tasting for salt.
