  • 3 lb. boneless pork, cut into chunks
  • 6 c. water
  • 5 c. hominy (half yellow, half white)
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. leaf oregano
  • 3 red chile pods or 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tsp. salt (or to taste)

Directions

    Place pork and water in a saucepan and cook, covered, until meat is tender (1 hour).
