- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Karo light syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. water
- 1 tsp. butter or vanilla flavoring
- 2 c. raw Virginia peanuts (can also use regular peanuts)
- 1 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Combine sugar, syrup and water in a large pan.

2Cook over high heat, stirring until syrup tests to 230°.

3Add peanuts and salt, stirring down when boils up.

4Cook to 290°.

5Remove from fire and add soda mixed with 1 teaspoon water, butter and flavoring.

6Stir thoroughly.

7Pour on marbled slab or buttered cookie sheet, pulling to thin out (wear gloves).

8Cool before breaking.
