Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. shelled, roasted peanuts
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 tsp. soda
Directions

1Combine sugar, syrup and water in a large heavy skillet.

2Cook slowly over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.

3Continue cooking until mixture reaches soft ball stage (240°) or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a soft ball.

4Add peanuts and salt.

5Cook to the crack stage (290° to 300°) or until small amount dropped in very cold water separates and threads which are hard and brittle.

6Watch mixture to keep from burning.

7Add butter and soda, stirring to blend.

8While still warm, pour into 2 large pans.

9Pull to desired thickness.

10When cold, crack into pieces.
