Peanut Brittle

  • 1 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. raw shelled peanuts
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Stir all of the first 5 ingredients together and cook in a black frying pan, stirring constantly.

    Cook until peanuts turn brown, about 10 minutes.

    Just before you take off the stove, add baking soda.
  4. 4
    Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet and spread thin. Break into pieces when cool.
