- 2 c. sugar
- 4 c. raw peanuts
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. water
- 3/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1In heavy 3-quart saucepan, stir together the sugar, water and syrup.

2Over medium heat, stirring constantly, bring to a boil. Add peanuts gradually so mixture continues to boil.

3Continue to cook, stirring often, to 260° on a candy thermometer or until a teaspoon of the mixture dropped into very cold water forms a ball that is elastic but hard enough to hold shape.

4Then add butter and cook until it spins hard and brittle thread.

5Remove from heat and quickly stir in soda.

6Pour on cookie sheets.
