- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. corn syrup
- dash of salt
- 2 c. raw peanuts
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Put sugar, corn syrup, 1/2 cup water, salt and peanuts in 2-quart microwaveproof bowl or casserole.

2Cook on High (maximum power) for 5 minutes; stir.

3Cook on High for 13 to 15 minutes or until the syrup separates into threads.

4This is the hard crack stage or 300° on a candy thermometer.

5Check temperature with thermometer several times during the last few minutes.

6(Do not leave thermometer in oven while cooking.)

7Stir in butter, soda and vanilla just until light and bubbly.

8Pour over buttered cookie sheet.

9Spread.

10Cool and break into pieces.
