Peanut Butter Pound Cake

- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. peanuts, finely chopped (optional)
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Beat in eggs, one at a time.

3Add vanilla extract and slowly beat in peanut butter.

4Sift flour with baking powder and salt.

5Add flour mixture, a little at a time, until well blended.

6Line a 9 or 10-inch tube pan on the bottom with wax paper.

7Bake at 350° for 45 minutes; reduce heat to 325° and bake 15 to 20 minutes.

8Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; then turn out.
