  • 1 (8-inch) pie shell, unbaked
  • 1 c. pecan halves
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. melted butter

Directions

    Spread pecan halves over the bottom of the unbaked pie shell. Beat the eggs until frothy.

    Add sugar, syrup, salt, vanilla and butter.

    Blend thoroughly.

    Pour filling over pecans in shell. Bake 10 minutes in hot 450° oven.

    Reduce the heat to 350° and bake for 35 minutes longer.
