- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. pecans
Directions

1Combine sugar, syrup, butter and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

2Pour this hot syrup slowly over beaten eggs, stirring constantly. Cool. Add vanilla and pecans; pour

3into pie shell. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375° and bake 35 to 40 minutes longer.
