  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. corn syrup
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

Directions

    In a large bowl beat eggs.

    Add salt, sugar, syrup, shortening, vanilla and nuts.

    Mix well.

    Pour in a partially cooked pie shell and bake at 325° about 45 minutes.

    The nuts will flatten the top, forming a firm crust that will brown nicely if baked slowly.
