  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak (1-inch thick)
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 medium onion, cut up
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 2 medium peppers, cut into 3/4-inch strips
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 medium tomatoes or canned

    Trim fat from meat; cut meat in strips.

    Heat oil in skillet; add meat and cook until brown.

    Stir in water, onions, garlic salt and ginger.

    Heat to boiling; reduce heat, cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes.

    Add green pepper strips during last 5 minutes of simmering.
