- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening or butter
- 1 c. persimmon pulp
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten lightly
- 2 c. flour, sifted
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. raisins, steamed
Directions

1Cream the sugar and shortening (butter) together.

2Add the soda to the persimmon pulp and mix.

3Add beaten egg to pulp.

4Sift dry ingredients together.

5Add persimmon and dry ingredients to creamed mixture; blend well.

6Stir in nuts and raisins.

7Drop batter from a tablespoon onto a well-greased cookie sheet and top each cookie with a raisin.

8Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
