Ingredients

  • 4 c. white vinegar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dill seed per jar
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard seed per jar
  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic per jar
  • 2 hot peppers per jar (if desired)
  • pinch of alum per jar

Directions

    Combine first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil.

    Pack raw okra in jars.
  3. 3
    Add remaining ingredients to each jar.

    Pour hot vinegar solution over okra; seal jar.

    Let stand a week or more. Chill before serving.
