- 4 large onions
- 2 green sweet peppers
- 1/4 c. salt
- 4 c. vinegar
- 4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. powdered cloves
- 4 tsp. mustard seed
- 4 1/2 lb. okra
Directions

1Grind onions and sweet peppers together.

2Use coarse blade. Add salt.

3Place in colander to drain; cover with a weight.

4Leave for 3 hours.

5Set vinegar, sugar and spices in large vessel.

6Stir until sugar is dissolved.

7Cut stems off okra and add to mixed liquid and ground vegetables.

8Heat to almost boil.

9Stir to keep from sticking.

10Put in jar and seal.

11Should set 3 or 4 months before using.
