- 1 c. soft shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 9 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice
- 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Mix shortening, sugar and egg.

3Stir in crushed pineapple with juice.

4Sift together flour, soda, salt and nutmeg and stir into mix.

5Mix in nuts.

6Chill at least 1 hour. Drop rounded teaspoon about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.

7Bake until, when touched lightly with finger, no imprint remains.

8Bake about 10 to 12 minutes.

9Makes about 4 to 5 dozen.
