- 1/2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Soften yeast in 2 tablespoons warm water.

2Set aside.

3Pour remaining cup of warm water in a large bowl.

4Blend in 2 cups flour and 1 teaspoon salt.

5Stir softened yeast and add to flour mixture, mixing well.

6Add about 1 cup flour to yeast mixture and beat until very smooth.

7Mix in enough flour to make a soft dough.

8Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and allow to rest for about 10 minutes.

9Knead for about 8 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic.
