  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 16 oz. drained sauerkraut (Bavarian style)
  • 2 handfuls egg noodles
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Brown ground beef with chopped onion.

    Drain well.

    Layer 1/2 in casserole dish.

    Top with drained sauerkraut.

    Top with other half of meat and onion.

    Sprinkle egg noodles on top (uncooked). Combine soups and milk and spread over mixture.

    Cover and cook in 350° oven for 1/2 hour.

    Uncover.

    Sprinkle with 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded cheese and cook for another 1/2 hour.
