  • 1 c. plain white cornmeal
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
  • 2 c. boiling water

Directions

    Pour boiling water over ingredients and mix well.

    Form into pones about 3-inches long and 1 1/2-inches wide.

    Place on greased baking sheet.

    Put a little grease on top of each pone.
  5. 5
    Bake until brown in oven about 450° for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 8 pones.
