- 6 to 8 white potatoes
- 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 to 2 tsp. minced onion
- 1 pt. half and half
- 1 stick butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Boil potatoes until done.

2Cool.

3Put in refrigerator overnight.

4Peel and grate potatoes.

5Put a layer of potatoes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

6Add half of cheese.

7Sprinkle over cheese 1 teaspoon of onion.

8Add another layer of potatoes, cheese and onion.

9Pour the milk over the layers.

10Melt the butter and pour over the top.

11Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
