Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon, cut in 1/2 pieces
- 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
- 2 -4 garlic cloves (to taste)
- 4 medium potatoes, cut in 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup or 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup
- 2 (6 1/2 ounce) cans clams, not drained
- 1 quart half-and-half, see note
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 12 cup water
Directions

1NOTE: can also use heavy cream and half and half.

2As long as what you use is 1 quart.

3Dice potatoes in 1/4 to 1/2 inch cubes.

4Dice bacon in to 1/2 pieces start to fry add onions to bacon and saute them with bacon till done.

5In large pot add potatoes, clams(with juice), clam juice, soup, and half and half, stir till soup is mixed inches.

6Add bacon and onion.

7Simmer on med-low for 1 hour or so, till potatoes are tender.

8Mix cornstarch and water stir into soup to thicken.

9IF needed.
