Potato Side Dish

Ingredients
- 2 potatoes mediums sized
- 4 green chillies
- 5 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons red chilly powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 5 teaspoons water
- salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- 3 curry leaves
Directions

1Wash, peal and dice the potatoes. Chop the green chillies.

2Heat oil in a dish.

3Once that's done, add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Let the mustard seeds start popping.

4After this add the potatoes and green chillies.

5Add sugar, red chilly powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and mix them well. I know some of you may not like the addition of sugar here. But it actually tastes good if you do add sugar :)

6Now add around 5 tsp of water and keep the dish closed and let it boil on a low flame for 10 minutes.

7After it is boiled add salt to taste and mix well.

8Serve hot with rice, curd rice.
