  • 1 c. shortening plus 2 Tbsp.
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3 2/3 c. cake flour
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon
  • little over 1 tsp. butternut flavoring

    Cream shortening, butter and sugar.

    Add milk and flour.

    Beat well.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beat good after each egg is added. Add flavoring.

    Cook at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until done.
