  • 1 c. softened butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Grease and flour a 5 x 9-inch loaf pan.

    Preheat oven to 325°. Cream the butter until smooth and fluffy.

    Add sugar

    gradually, beating until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs one at a time.

    Beat well after adding each egg.

    Use wooden spoon to stir in flour, salt and vanilla.
