- 1 c. softened butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Grease and flour a 5 x 9-inch loaf pan.

2Preheat oven to 325°. Cream the butter until smooth and fluffy.

3Add sugar

4gradually, beating until light and fluffy.

5Add eggs one at a time.

6Beat well after adding each egg.

7Use wooden spoon to stir in flour, salt and vanilla.

8Mix well.

9Spoon batter into pan.

10Bake 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.

11Test with toothpick; let cool for 10 minutes before removing.
