- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Heat oven to 325°.

2Grease 10-inch tube pan with 2 tablespoons of butter.

3Sprinkle pan with 1/4 cup sugar.

4Cream remaining butter.

5Gradually add remaining sugar.

6Beat well.

7Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

8Add vanilla and mix well.

9Combine 2 3/4 cups flour, baking powder and salt.

10Gradually add to creamed mixture, beating until well blended.

11Pour batter into prepared pan.

12Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes.

13Remove from pan and cool completely.
