- 8 cups water
- 1 cup steel cut oats, long cooking
- 1/2 cup oat bran
- 1/2 cup soy crumbles
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions

1Bring the water to a boil in a sauce pot and slowly stir in the steel cut oats.

2Boil for about 5 minutes and turn the heat down to simmer. Don't cover the pot.

3Cook for 15 minutes and then add the rest of the ingredients. Salt to taste (I don't use any).

4Bring the pot back to a simmer.

5Continue cooking for another 10 to 15 minutes.

6Keep an eye on the pot, you may need to add a little more boiling water during the last few minutes of cooking.
