- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/3 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. coarse salt
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Grease 2 large baking sheets.

3In large bowl, sprinkle yeast over water.

4Stir until well blended and yeast is dissolved.

5With spoon, gradually stir in sugar, salt and 3 1/2 cups flour until dough is soft and slightly sticky.

6Turn dough onto floured table or board.

7Knead.
-
8Turn 1/4; repeat. Knead 5 to 7 minutes adding another 1/2 cup flour if needed until dough is smooth and elastic.

9Dough should not stick.

10Cut dough in half and cut each half into 6 equal size pieces.

11With floured hands, roll one piece of dough back and forth between palms of hands to form a dough rope.
