Ingredients

  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped prunes
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Combine raisins, prunes and boiling water.

    Let stand 10 minutes.

    Cream oleo, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

    Add flour, cinnamon and chopped nuts.

    Add soda to raisin mixture and dump into cake batter.

    Stir until mixed.

    Grease and flour loaf pans or cans.

    Soup cans make nice little round loaves.

    If you use cans, place them on a cookie sheet.

    Fill about 1/3 full.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
