- 1 loaf French bread, sliced thin with crust removed
- 2 green apples, cored and chopped
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 6 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 qt. milk or half and half
- 2 Tbsp. melted oleo
Directions

1Combine eggs, sugar and flour until smooth.

2Add milk and blend well.

3Set custard in refrigerator.

4Butter 11 x 7 x 1 3/4-inch pan and line bottom with the sliced bread.

5Cover with 1/2 chopped apples and raisins and 1/3 of custard.

6Repeat for second layer.

7Top with remaining bread and custard.

8Drizzle melted oleo over top.

9Bake at 375° for 45 to 60 minutes until custard is slightly firm.
