- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. water
Directions

1Put into deep saucepan.

2Cook over low heat.

3Stir well until sugar is dissolved.

4Cook without stirring to a hard boil stage (280°).

5Remove from heat.

6Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and pour into a shallow buttered pan to cool.

7When edges of candy stiffen, fold them to the center with a spatula.

8Coat hand with butter.

9When cool enough to handle, pull candy until light cream color, stretch and twist into rope or braid 3 strands.

10Cut into 1 inch pieces.
