Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. oil
- 2 c. canned pumpkin (one 16 oz. can)
- 3 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1 c. cherries, chopped
- raisins may also be added
Directions

1Mix eggs and sugar well.

2Add remaining ingredients (except nuts and cherries).

3Blend thoroughly for 2 minutes with mixer or in processor or beat with spoon.

4Add nuts and cherries to mixture, blending with spoon.

5Bake in greased and floured three 1 pound loaf pans or large Bundt pan.

6May be served with whipped cream cheese or whipped cottage cheese.

7Bake in 350° oven for 45 minutes.

8Cake is done when it springs back from touch or test with toothpick.
