- 4 cups pumpkin diced peeled, pulp
- milk Boiling
- pepper freshly ground to taste
- 3 carrots diced
- 3 celery ribs, diced
- onion 1 sm., finely chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Directions

1Place pumpkin, carrots, celery and onion in large kettle.

2Add the bay leaf and broth.

3Bring to a boil.

4Cover and simmer about 1 hour or until pumpkin is tender.

5Put mixture in blender and return to the kettle.

6Stir in the remaining ingredients except the milk.

7Adjust the consistency with the milk.

8Yield: 6 servings.
