- 12 thick slices Swiss or Gruyere cheese
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- nutmeg
- cayenne pepper
- 2 c. light cream
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- pastry for a 9-inch pie
Directions

1Line 9-inch pie plate with pie crust.

2Arrange slices of cheese and bacon in overlapping layers in pie crust.

3Beat eggs with flour, generous grating of nutmeg and cayenne to taste.

4Add cream and melted butter.

5Pour this mixture over bacon and cheese and bake in 350° oven until custard is set and lightly browned, about 40 minutes.
