Quick Broccoli Chowder

Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. cut or chopped broccoli (frozen in cheese sauce, optional)
  • 2 to 3 c. chopped onion
  • 1 to 2 c. butter or margarine
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 5 c. milk
  • 1 to 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 to 8 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon

Directions

    Cook broccoli according to package directions, just until thawed.

    Place broccoli and sauce in blender and process until finely chopped.

    Cook onion in butter until tender.

    Stir in flour until smooth.

    Add milk gradually and cook and stir until thickened.

    Add salt, pepper, garlic salt and chicken bouillon. Add broccoli and simmer until heated through.

    Makes about 8 cups.
